Joint Replacement Surgery
Modern joint replacements are some of the most successful operations in all of medicine. The goal of hip and knee replacement surgery is to restore pain free motion of the joint.
Total Hip Replacement
An important factor in deciding whether to have hip replacement surgery is understanding what the procedure can and cannot do. Most people who undergo hip replacement surgery experience a dramatic reduction of hip (groin) pain and a significant improvement in their ability to perform the common activities of daily living.
Total Knee Replacement
An important factor in deciding whether to have total knee replacement surgery is understanding what the procedure can and cannot do for you.
PATIENT
EDUCATION
Patients have many questions and concerns about surgery, especially pain control and activity following surgery. Our intent is that all patients be fully educated and prepared for their operation.
Free educational sessions about total hip and knee replacement surgery are held each month.
These sessions provide an overview of the entire recovery and rehabilitation process starting the morning of surgery through discharge from the hospital.
Participating can both ease the anxiety that one may experience prior to surgery and accelerate your return to an active lifestyle.
We realize that family members and friends play a crucial role in the recovery process. Anyone undergoing or considering hip or knee replacement, along with caregivers and family members, is encouraged to attend one of the sessions.
